Real Magic
Is magic real?
Yes. But it’s complicated.
Despite a somewhat sinister reputation, real magic is sacred, not scary.
It resides within each of us, a hidden yet profound power that uses natural energies, imagination, and symbolism to change oneself and one's relationship with the world. Once you understand the core principles of magic, reality opens up to reveal itself.
The root of any magical working lies in two ordinary mental applications; attention and intention.
When guided to combine additional elements: belief, imagination, emotion and clarity, extraordinary transformations can occur.
We have access to all of these elements, so magic should be simple! Except it’s not.
We live in a world that swamps us in spectacle to distract us, bombarding us with an astonishing 402.74 million terabytes of data daily. Humans are woefully out of practise with being able to achieve mental clarity and focus their attention, in addition most of us have no idea what we really want.
Belief is at an all time low and nihilism on the rise. The role of imagination has been demoted within society to that of fantasy or childish whimsy. Even our ability to imagine is under threat, thanks to the immediacy and convenience of AI.
Unless we actively avoid the noise, choose to hone our innate skills of the higher mind (magic) we could lose them for good. Hence my suggestion that we re-enchant this place PDQ!
So is magic currently dormant?
Nope, it’s very much alive but in a left-hand path kinda way. Used to control and coerce in politics, the entertainment industry, advertising and PR. I am not joking.

Divine Magic
Magic vs Magick. The archaic spelling of magic with a ‘k’ was reintroduced in the Victorian era by occultist Aleister Crowley, in order to differentiate his magickal workings from stage magic.
I opt not to use the ‘k’ due to associations (rightly or wrongly) with black magic. Instead my teachings draw from the earth-friendly, divine magic of Ancient Egypt, Greece. This is magic practised for wisdom, wellbeing, spiritual growth and benevolence not greed and dominion.
Once you understand the bones of magic, you regain control and see where it’s being used to influence decision making.

Social media is an unavoidable part of our lives but speaking into the void, sharing your creations and innermost thoughts can be fraught with self doubt.
